1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Static URL QR Generator (“the tool”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the tool.

2. Nature of the Tool

This is a free, open-source, client-side web utility hosted on GitHub Pages. It has no server component, no user accounts, and no paid features. Everything runs in your browser using JavaScript.

3. License to Use

You are granted a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use this tool for personal or commercial purposes, including generating unlimited QR codes, installing it offline, or embedding it in your own projects.

4. No Warranty

The tool is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • 100% scannability of generated QR codes (user settings affect reliability)
  • Availability (GitHub Pages may have outages)
  • Fitness for any particular purpose

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers and hosting providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Unscannable or incorrect QR codes
  • Data loss, privacy breaches on your device, or misuse of generated codes
  • Interruptions due to GitHub Pages or browser changes

6. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • The content you encode (URLs, text, images)
  • Testing QR codes before printing or distribution
  • Ensuring adequate error correction and contrast when customizing
  • Not using the tool for unlawful or harmful purposes

7. Intellectual Property

The source code is licensed under the MIT License. You may fork, modify, and redistribute it freely. The name “Static URL QR Generator” and associated branding are open for non-commercial use.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the hosted version at any time, without notice (though the code remains publicly available).

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of open-source common sense and the GitHub Terms of Service.
