Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Timestamp Converter (the “Service”), a free, open-source, client-side web utility hosted on GitHub Pages, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

The Service is a static, browser-based tool that converts between Unix timestamps (seconds since January 1, 1970 UTC) and human-readable dates in the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (UTC). All processing occurs locally in your browser using standard JavaScript Date objects. No data is sent to any server, and the Service does not store or log any inputs or results.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the Service for any lawful personal, educational, or commercial purpose, including but not limited to:

  • Debugging timestamps in logs and APIs
  • Verifying date/time values in software development
  • Quick reference during testing or data analysis

You agree not to use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or infringes third-party rights.

4. No Warranty – AS IS

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Timestamp conversions rely on the browser’s JavaScript Date implementation, which may have limitations (e.g., safe range roughly 1970–2038 for full precision, behavior beyond year 9999 may be inconsistent). We do not guarantee error-free operation or suitability for critical systems (medical, financial, aviation, etc.).

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes — but is not limited to — loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business interruption.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service’s code is open-source (MIT license — see repository if available). You may view, copy, modify, and redistribute it in accordance with the license terms. The name “Timestamp Converter” and associated branding remain our property. You may not use our name or branding to imply endorsement without permission.

7. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice or liability. We may also update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the project maintainer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

9. Contact

For questions about these Terms, contact us via the project’s GitHub repository issues (if applicable) or the provided contact method.

Use of the Timestamp Converter is provided freely and without any expectation of support, accuracy guarantees, or liability. Thank you for using the tool responsibly.
