Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Portfolio Allocation Checker (the “Tool”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Tool. These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

2. Description of Service

The Portfolio Allocation Checker is a free, client-side web utility that allows users to input asset names and values, calculate percentage allocations, and view results in a table and pie chart. All processing occurs locally in your browser. No data is transmitted to us or any third party.

3. No Financial Advice

The Tool is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not provide investment advice, financial planning, tax guidance, or any recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Results depend entirely on the accuracy of data you enter. You are solely responsible for any decisions made based on the output.

4. Accuracy & Reliability

We strive to ensure correct calculations, but we provide the Tool “as is” without warranties. We do not guarantee that results will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Rounding to two decimal places and client-side floating-point arithmetic may introduce minor discrepancies compared to professional software.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Enter accurate and truthful information
  • Use the Tool only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or misuse the client-side code
  • Accept that we are not liable for any loss, damage, or missed opportunity resulting from use or misuse of the Tool

6. Intellectual Property

The design, layout, and client-side logic are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission. Open-source libraries used (Chart.js, Bootstrap) retain their own licenses.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Tool — including but not limited to financial loss, data issues, or business interruption.

8. Termination

We may discontinue or modify the Tool at any time without notice. These terms remain in effect for any prior use.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Gauteng.

The Portfolio Allocation Checker is offered freely and privately. Use it responsibly and at your own risk.
