Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Markdown Meta Tag Tester (the "Tool"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Tool. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developers of the Tool.
2. Description of the Service
The Tool is a free, open-source, browser-based utility that lets you paste or upload Markdown files to validate meta tags (title, description, etc.) and preview rendered output. All processing happens locally in your browser. There is no account creation, login, or data upload required.
3. License and Permitted Use
The Tool and its source code are provided under an open-source license (MIT or similar – see the repository for the exact license). You may use, copy, modify, and distribute the Tool freely in accordance with that license. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the hosted version for personal, non-commercial purposes.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Tool for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary logic (beyond what is allowed by the open-source license)
- Introduce viruses, malware, or harmful code through any interaction with the Tool
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
5. No Data Collection – Your Responsibility
As explained in our Privacy Policy, we collect no data. Any Markdown content you input stays on your device. You are solely responsible for:
- The content you choose to validate or preview
- Any sensitive information contained in your Markdown files
- Securing your own device and browser environment
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Tool is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, non-infringement, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the Tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your specific needs.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Tool, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
8. Changes to the Tool or Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Tool (or any part of it) at any time without notice or liability. We may also update these Terms occasionally. The current version will always be posted here. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the primary developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
